About the Menkawum Ngurra Elders Residence

Caring for our Elders with dignity, respect and cultural understanding

Menkawum Ngurra is a 28-bed residential aged care facility in Halls Creek, proudly operated by the Yura Yungi Medical Service. Since 1994, the residence has supported Elders and people living with disability from Halls Creek and surrounding communities including Ringers Soak, Mulan, Balgo and Bililluna.

Since taking over the management of the Elders Residence in June 2024, Yura Yungi has been working hard to improve the service for local Indigenous people and are planning to improve the facility and employ more Indigenous staff into senior positions.

The Elder Residence provides both low and high care, assisting with daily living, clinical support and wellbeing. Residents enjoy regular activities, cultural connection, and outings that keep them engaged with community and Country.
