At Menkawum Ngurra Elders Residence, we provide around the clock residential aged care in a safe, supportive, and culturally respectful environment. Our 28-bed facility offers care that helps make growing older a positive and dignified experience.

Types of Care

We provide a full range of residential aged care services, including:

Low care support with daily living.
High and complex care, including dementia support.
Culturally appropriate care that respects the traditions and values of Aboriginal people in the East Kimberley.

How to Apply

To enter residential care, all residents need an Aged Care Assessment, which is carried out by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT).

Ask your Yura Yungi doctor or health worker for a referral.
Once approved, you or your family can contact us to discuss the next steps.

Costs

Menkawum Ngurra operates under the Aged Care Act 1997 and is funded through the Commonwealth Aged Care Funding Instrument.

Residents are required to pay a Basic Daily Fee from their pension, set by the Commonwealth.
The amount can be calculated on the My Aged Care website.
