Our Collaborative Network

At Yura Yungi Aboriginal Medical Service (YYMS) we value collaboration and strong relationships with respected organisations across our industry and community. These affiliations reflect our commitment to high standards, professional development, and shared goals.

Professional Memberships

Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS)

We are proud members of the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS), a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO). KAMS represents and supports eight independent ACCHOs across the Kimberley, alongside Kimberley Renal Services, its wholly owned subsidiary.

Established in 1986, KAMS plays a vital role in regional advocacy, collective resource sharing, and the delivery of comprehensive primary health care in several remote communities. Through this affiliation, we align with KAMS’ commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people across the Kimberley region.

National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)

NACCHO is the national peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) across Australia. Representing 148 ACCHOs at more than 550 sites, NACCHO supports culturally informed, community-led healthcare that reaches over 410,000 people each year, including vital services in remote regions.

As a proud affiliate of NACCHO, Yura Yungi Medical Service is part of this strong national network working together to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through community-driven, culturally safe care.

Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia (AHCWA)

AHCWA is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) across the state. Representing 23 member services, AHCWA provides support, advocacy, and leadership to strengthen the Aboriginal health sector and improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people and their communities.

Central to AHCWA’s work is promoting the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector Model of Care. This model is a holistic, culturally secure approach to primary health care led by Aboriginal people, for Aboriginal people. As a member of AHCWA, Yura Yungi Medical Service benefits from shared knowledge, advocacy, and sector-wide collaboration that helps ensure sustainable, and culturally safe care for our community.

Council of Aboriginal Services Western Australia (CASWA)

Yura Yungi is a proud member of the Council of Aboriginal Services Western Australia (CASWA), the peak body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) across WA. CASWA plays a vital role in supporting and strengthening ACCOs like ours, advocating for systems that work with Aboriginal people, not on them.

Through collective leadership, cultural authority, and strong partnerships, CASWA helps ensure Aboriginal communities have control over the services that impact their lives. Together, we work towards a future where our organisations are resourced, respected, and empowered to deliver better outcomes for our people.

Kimberley Pharmacy Services

Yura Yungi works in close partnership with Kimberley Pharmacy Services, a trusted provider of pharmacy care across the Kimberley since 2009. Established to address the unique challenges of delivering healthcare in rural and remote communities, Kimberley Pharmacy Services is committed to improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through consistent, high-quality, and culturally responsive pharmacy services.

This partnership is essential to Yura Yungi’s ability to supply medications efficiently and reliably to our patients, improving accessibility and supporting better health outcomes in Halls Creek and surrounding areas.
