Location: Halls Creek - Yura Yungi Aboriginal Medical Service

Position Overview

The Psychosocial Support Worker will play a vital role in delivering support services tailored to individuals with severe mental illness and psychosocial functional impairments. This position emphasises culturally appropriate practises and community collaboration to facilitate better health access and outcomes.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients to enhance their daily living skills, increase their social participation, and support their overall well-being.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of those in the community. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Experience in delivering programs to individuals and small groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external service providers to enhance service delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in computer applications.
  • Familiarity with the Halls Creek community and its surrounding areas.
  • Understanding of cultural safety principles and practises.
  • Current “C” class driver's licence, National Police Clearance, and Working with Children clearance.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive team environment, contributing to a culture of respect and inclusion while striving to achieve the goals set by the Yura Yungi Medical Service.

About the Benefits

  • Above award annual base salary starting from $70,000 + Super depending on experience and qualification
  • Annual airfare of $2,000
  • Salary Packaging of up to $30,000 per annum
