Position Summary
The Social and Emotional Wellbeing project ensures Indigenous people enjoy levels of physical, social and emotional wellbeing enjoyed by all Australians by recognising the impact of past trauma, dispossession, separation of families, on-going social disadvantage and other issues that impact on the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities.
The SEWB Support Counsellor will provide counselling, therapeutic support and healing activities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within a multidisciplinary team.
- The aim of this position is to support clients SEWB needs in a variety of ways including providing a connection to health services, and delivering culturally appropriate education, prevention and early intervention activities for people in the community.
- This position is aligned to the ACCHS SEWB Service Model.
