Yura Yungi Medical Services (YYMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation dedicated to providing holistic and culturally safe healthcare to the residents of Halls Creek and surrounding areas. Position Overview
The Cleaner plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within YYMS facilities. This casual position is responsible for ensuring that all areas are kept free from contaminants, thus supporting a safe workplace for staff, clients, and visitors alike. The Cleaner will adhere to established cleaning schedules and infection-control procedures, demonstrating attention to detail in every task.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, disinfecting, and maintaining sanitary facilities.
- Manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Assist with the upkeep of staff accommodations and locum facilities.
- Develop an understanding of the role to support administrative functions as needed.
- Contribute to team efforts and maintain positive working relationships.
- Participate in workplace safety procedures to promote a safe work environment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for the Cleaner position will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to upholding hygiene standards. We are looking for someone who values quality care and is eager to contribute positively to the community.
- Experience in domestic cleaning or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of the significance of working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
- National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain.
- Fully COVID-19 vaccinated (evidence required).
As this is a temporary position, applicants must be available to work for a four-week period commencing 24 August.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary of $37.41 per hour plus casual loading, contributing to a fulfilling role within a culturally rich organisation.
