Celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week at Yura Yungi Medical Service

This week, Yura Yungi Medical Service proudly celebrated Random Acts of Kindness Week, taking time to recognise the importance of kindness, connection, and care within our workplace.

Throughout the week, staff were encouraged to reflect on how small, everyday acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference — not only to our colleagues, but also to the communities we support. From checking in with one another to lending a helping hand, these simple actions help strengthen our teams and reinforce a positive and respectful workplace culture.

To mark the occasion, we hosted a staff morning tea, providing an opportunity for staff to come together, connect, and share conversations about what kindness looks like in our workplace. The morning tea also gave us a chance to introduce our Kindness Tree initiative, which invites staff to contribute reflections on:

  • Ways we can show kindness in the workplace

  • Messages of kindness and appreciation for colleagues

  • What kindness means to them personally

The Kindness Tree will serve as a visual reminder of the values we share and the importance of continuing these actions beyond Kindness Week.

While Random Acts of Kindness Week has come to an end, the message remains ongoing. At Yura Yungi, kindness is not limited to one week, it is part of how we work together, support one another, and create a safe and welcoming environment for all.

We thank all staff for their participation and for the kindness they bring to our organisation every day.
